Auto Sync
Auto Sync
Auto Sync syncs the robot to the cloud automatically every time you click Run in the Designer. With it on, Roberty makes sure the latest version of the flow is saved before the run starts.
What it is for
While you are building a robot, you edit the flow and run it to test the change. Without Auto Sync there is a risk of running a stale version — especially when the robot runs on another device, or someone else runs it.
With Auto Sync on, every click of Run syncs first and starts the run second.
Turning Auto Sync on
- Open any robot's Designer.
- Click the gear icon (⚙️) to open the settings.
- Go to the General tab.
- Turn Auto Sync on.
A per-session setting
Auto Sync is local — it applies to your use of the Designer in this browser. Other users have their own, independent setting.
When to use it
| Situation | What to do |
|---|---|
| You edit and test the robot often | Turn it on — the test then reflects your latest changes |
| The robot is in production and you do not want automatic syncing | Turn it off — sync by hand when you mean to publish |
| You work in a team and others may be editing the same robot | Turn it on — it reduces the risk of running a stale version |
Next
