Rename an item from a drive

Renames an existing file or folder in a SharePoint drive.

Options

Drive

Select the action that gets the SharePoint drive: Get a drive from the list or Get drive by name.

Path of the item to be renamed

Enter the path of the file or folder, including the current name, from the root of the drive, for example Documents/report.pdf.

New item name

Enter the new name of the item. If it is a file, include the extension.

Select the SharePoint connection set up in the flow.

Drive

Select the drive the operation will run on.

Item ID

Enter the ID of the file or folder to rename.

New item name

Enter the new name for the item.

Field selection

• success — indicates if the item was renamed successfully (Boolean)

Rules and Conditions

• The Drive, Path of the item to be renamed and New item name fields are required.
• The item must exist in the drive.
• If Microsoft Graph rejects the operation (item not found, insufficient permission, etc.), the action fails with the error message returned by the API.
