AI Agents

Creating an agent

Create an AI agent from the workspace's file tree, either with Roberty Autopilot or by configuring it yourself.

Creating an agent

To create an agent, go to the workspace's Files tab, click Create in the top bar (or use a folder's context menu) and choose Agent — the same list you create a folder, a robot or a sub-routine from.

You are taken to the agent's creation page. It is no longer a modal.

info

Agent only appears in the menu if the current workspace has the generative AI feature enabled. If it is missing, contact your account manager to have it turned on.

Choosing the workspace

Confirm (or change) which workspace the agent is created in. If you opened the Create menu from inside a particular workspace, the field is already filled in, but you can still change it. Only workspaces with generative AI enabled appear in the list.

info

If no workspace appears, generative AI is not enabled on your account. Contact your account manager to have it turned on.

Choosing the folder

Optionally, choose which folder of the Files tab the agent goes in. That keeps the agent with the robots and sub-routines of the same area — and if the folder has teams attached, the agent is only visible to those teams' members.

If you opened the Create menu from inside a folder, the field is already filled in with it, but you can still change it. With no folder selected, the agent sits at the workspace's root.

The two ways to create one

Roberty Autopilot

Roberty Autopilot generates the agent's system prompt from a description in plain language.

  1. Select Roberty Autopilot (the default).
  2. In the text field, describe what the agent should do.
    • For example: "An agent that answers customers' questions about our products and looks up order status in the system."
  3. Optionally, click one of the suggestions below the field to fill it in.
  4. Click Create with Autopilot.

Manual

Manual creates the agent with a blank prompt for you to fill in directly in the editor.

  1. Select Manual.
  2. Enter the agent's Name (required, up to 80 characters).
  3. Enter a Description (optional, up to 500 characters).
  4. Click Create agent.

After creating it

Either way, the agent is created and the editor opens in a new browser tab for you to review and configure it. The original tab returns to the folder or workspace you started from, on the Files tab.
